.: The Act :.

Arrogant & Egotistical ;;

Ragna knows she’s capable of excelling in whatever she puts her mind to. There’s no way she’d turn down a challenge to test her abilities, if only to prove to everyone else that she’s better than them. Her ego is large and ever expanding, suffocating any who dare to be in its presence. A quick way to get on her bad side would be to bruise it, but only if you’re prepared for an all out brawl. She takes both compliments and insults in stride though, making it hard to tick her off, and her low opinion of almost everyone doesn’t help much either (or does it?). To put it in her own words, “a lion need not listen to the gossip of a sheep.” As such, anything anyone may say tends to fly over her head, unless she finds it amusing. Even with authority, she tends to dismiss most things, only being motivated by money or death.

Manipulative & Cunning ;;

When not throwing insults around like confetti at a birthday party, Ragna uses her words in a clever, almost confusing way. Psychology is her forte, and messing with people’s minds is her favorite pastime. Making people second guess themselves or forcing them to answer uncomfortable questions entertains her endlessly, especially if it’s about something personal or highly valued. If another who may indulge in similar activities such as herself tried to pull anything on her, she would very skillfully evade each and every question. It’s only natural to have many defenses when you have the same offense as an opponent, no? Not only is she physically capable of dodging many blows, she’s also mentally capable of avoiding many questions. Perhaps, if she wished to humor herself, she might entertain the fool stranger with odd answers based off lies.

Selfish & Narcissistic ;;

When facing decisions and choices, Ragna would no doubt pick the option that would best advance herself. Other people are of no concern to her, and they could all go die (again) for all she cared. She has no qualms about using people for her own gain, as no one else could ever come near to the level of importance as she puts herself at. Her thoughts, her opinions, and her preferences are the only things important-- To her, at least, although it wouldn’t be a lie to say that she thinks that others should agree with her mindset. Obviously, she’s a fan of backstabbing and traitorous activity, but only if she thinks that the person would truly be useless from then on. As self-obsessed as she may be, she realizes the potential of others from time to time.

Secretive & Territorial ;;

It’s not unusual for Ragna to never answer questions properly. She may lie, she may avoid them, she may ask a question or two in return; whatever the question may be, if it pertains to her personal life, she will make sure to do all that she can to make your life a living hell for even daring to know something about her. But, obviously, you must tell absolutely everything about yourself to her, so that she has something to hold against you. She’s quite good at keeping secrets though, and she may even keep someone else’s for a price, but more likely than not she won’t tell anyone else of her knowledge. Equally so, Ragna can be quite possessive of things or even people. What’s hers is hers, no if’s and’s or but’s. Even if something may or may not belong to her, if she states that it’s hers, then that’s that. She won’t give anything up without a fight, even if what she’s territorial about may seem silly. One thing in particular that she tends to be incredibly temperamental and secretive about is the way she died. She finds it to be embarrassing, not worth talking about, and she might do whatever it takes to keep whoever knows about it silent.

.:.

 ;; Rational & Observant

As impossible as it may be to get through the tough outer layer of megalomania, Ragna has her positive traits. She may be cocky and tend to speak out of line from time to time, but everything she says or does is calculated to cause a certain reaction. 90% of the time it’s for her own amusement, but sometimes it’s for a greater goal. Likewise, in battle, every move has it’s own significance, as she doesn’t like to waste energy on something that may not work. Her style is certainly wild and unpredictable, but a pattern can be found if one were to observe her closely. But again, that’s only if it can be found, and if it can be countered. When not making snarky comments about someone’s ill sense of fashion, Ragna tends to stay quiet and observe. People watching is another pastime of hers, although not as fun since it’s not about her. Still, people tend to do some pretty hilarious stuff, especially if she set up a trap beforehand. Because of this though, she’s learned to pay attention to detail and catch what most would miss, but whether or not she’d speak up about it is dependent on her mood.

;; Talented & Ambitious

Although she rubs all her talents in everyone’s faces at every opportune moment, she truly is a talented individual and isn’t just all talk and no walk. She picks up things quite quickly and gets used to them give or take a week, but she never gets to the point of mastering them. It could be because she sees no point in mastering anything that may not serve her in the long term, or it could be because she got bored. Either way, as much as she knows and as much as she can do, she could never beat a professional in an area she doesn’t take seriously, no matter how cocky she may sound. Combined with her natural talent, she becomes quite an opponent if she were to take something seriously, as her ambition drives her onwards to achieve whatever goal is taking up her mind at that moment. This makes her very one-track minded though, as she ignores everything else until she’s gotten what she wanted, regardless of how important something else might be.

;; Independent & Commanding

Ragna is definitely not a team player, unless the team involves her ordering everyone around to go do grunt work while she takes care of the important stuff. She does amazingly well by herself, as she’d have no distractions to make fun of and whatnot. By herself, she becomes focused on the task, and is a bit more agreeable with requests. Being with others just tends to put her in a sour mood, as she thinks of everyone else as utter burdens. But, give her some reasonable motivation and she’ll grumble through the task, keeping her snappy remarks short. It’s inevitable for her to take on the role of the leader though, directly or indirectly. If another team member presents themselves as a leader, Ragna will acknowledge that, but will definitely not respect that. She’ll tend to go off and do her own thing or sabotage her leader’s plans, just for shits and giggles. If a task is to go smoothly, it’s best to let her take charge, as she’s an amazing leader given the chance. One may not think so considering her ego and lack of respect for others, but Ragna truly likes leadership responsibilities and would be in a better mood to finish the task. Her style of leadership is a commanding type, but not to the point of ignorance. She would take in the strengths and weaknesses of her teammates and assign them tasks that’d suit their needs, but she would expect absolute obedience. Democracy is not in her vocabulary, only Dictatorship.

;; Carefree & Careless

If ever someone were to beat her in something she boasted about being great at… Ragna would laugh it off. If they were lucky, she might even congratulate them on beating her, but she’d swear on revengeance to beat them once she got better. She’s not a very hot-headed individual and takes mostly everything in stride, not caring much for who she makes an enemy or a friend out of. The only thing that ever matters is whether or not she’s enjoying the moment. Similarly, Ragna doesn’t show much shame in what she does, doing whatever she wants whenever she wants to. Her looks would be a good indication of this, as she could care less as to how much of her skin was showing or not (although it’s also a clear way to manipulate the lady lovers) or how messy her hair looked.

.: The Past :.

[O B I T U A R Y]

Viking Era (800-1000 AD)
Occupation: Maid to the noble family.
Age: 21
Location: Somewhere from Scandinavia.
Death: Mauled by a bear.

[L I F E]

Ragna lived as a commoner amongst viking civilization, being granted a job as a maid to the noble family when she was 10. She helped around in the kitchen and cleaned up the halls, as any maid would do, and generally held no complaints. It was when she accidentally eavesdropped on an important conversation amongst her elders, talking of some raid against another village, that she was interested in something aside from her job. Although she didn’t understand anything, she was fascinated by the concept of battle, and quickly left to train. At first, she tried with a wooden stick, to prove to her father that she was worthy of being on the battlefield. Her father was a part of the raid, so she figured she’d have an easier time joining.

Her first confrontation with her father didn’t end well. She was told that a child of her stature had no business amongst a raid, and that she was too weak to even hold a proper weapon herself. She understood that, so she didn’t protest, merely training by herself or with some friends and waiting until she was of age.

At 18, another raid was forming, and as she was an adult she confronted her father again, requesting to join the raid. And, yet again, she was shut down, although she was given a different reason this time. The fact that she was female seemed to have put her father off, although she didn’t quite understand this excuse. So what if she was a woman? She could fight just as well as the boys. But no matter how long she protested, her father kept rejecting her, and she was left alone to watch the raid leave without her.

Motivated to prove her father wrong, she trained even more, twice as hard as the boys. She took up expertise with two weapons rather than one, figuring that would prove a point. Dual wielding axes wasn’t a very popular choice, as it required one to abandon their shield for more damage, but that was exactly why she figured she had an advantage; she had a lithe and flexible form, being able to evade whatever may come her way. Carrying a shield only made things more difficult for her, anyways.

Satisfied with her progress, she confronted her father for the third and final time. She challenged him to a duel, to see for himself that she was skilled, but he finally snapped from her lack of utter respect. He took away her weapons, her armor, everything that she trained with, telling her that she should stay put as a maid while he looked for a man for her to be betrothed to. It was then that she became enraged, frustrated, hopeless… Until she figured out a way to earn his trust.

[D E A T H]

It was well known amongst viking culture that killing a predator was worthy of innumerable respect. The larger the beast, the more respect one gained, and that was what Ragna went with. She set her targets on a wolf-- No, a bear. Bringing back the head of a bear would surely convince her father otherwise, and she’d finally be accepted into a raid.

She didn’t take any weapons or armor with her, confident that she’d be able to kill a bear with her own fists. After all, taking down an animal without any help would gain her even more respect, wouldn’t it? It certainly would. She didn’t listen to the protests of her friends, setting off into the wild by herself, thinking through each and every strategy that she could to make sure that everything was perfect.

Ragna had never seen a bear before. She only knew of them to be large creatures with terrifying teeth and sharp claws, capable of taking down a fully grown man in one swing. But as she faced the bear, as she watched it rear up onto its hind legs and loom over her, she froze.

[A F T E R L I F E]

Waking up to the sight of the very things that killed her was a strange sight to see, especially since they were fused with her axes somehow. It was peculiar, but she laughed. She laughed at the irony of killing and fighting with what she was trying to kill and fight in the first place. It was almost poetic.

She loved being an apprentice. She loved taking lives, and the power that she held over humans. Although it was no where near as exhilarating as being on the battlefield, she liked it regardless, just because it amused her so much. All the deaths that she reaped got to her head at one point or another, twisting her sense of self into something unrecognizable from when she was alive, making her crave for something… More. Something much more entertaining, something she had control over, something that allowed her to squeeze the life out of a body with her own hands...

.: The Rest :.

[W E A P O N]
Dual Blades ;; Because of the way she died, Ragna woke up to the sight she died seeing; the claws of the bear she was mauled by. She thought it was quite a well played joke, as cruel as it may be.
[S T A T S]

STR ;; 3

For a tiny girl, Ragna has quite a lot of power. She can very easily overtake an opponent if they make the mistake of underestimating her. Still, even if she can pack a punch, she’d easily be knocked off her feet in game of pure strength.

DEX ;; 5

Evasion is her forte. As someone with high stamina, she’s capable of dodging enemy attacks for as long as she wishes, taking her time to injure her opponent to the point of exhaustion. It works with her personality, as she loves to tease and play around to get her opponent riled up. Hitting-and-running is her preferred style of battle.

CON ;; 1

She’s average in the health department, although a bit better off when it comes to cold climates. She’d be particularly weak in extremely hot conditions.

INT ;; 3

To be cunning, one needs to be smart. However ignorant she may sound or behave, she isn’t, and merely chooses to be out of her own discretion for wanting to be entertained.

WIS ;; 0

She may have smarts, but she’s not a very wise individual. When it comes to philosophy or deep conversations, she dismisses them promptly, as she deems them to be a waste of time.

CHA ;; 1

Ragna can be a very charming woman… Until she speaks. The charm doesn’t really last very long.
